Our directors remain directly involved in the work we deliver, providing clients with clear communication, practical decision-making and direct access to the people responsible for their projects.

Garry McGowan

Managing Director

Garry brings more than 20 years of mechanical, marine and offshore engineering experience to Terra Mechanica Maris.

His background began with engineering apprenticeships in industry and the Royal Navy Submarine Service, followed by extensive experience across offshore drilling, subsea systems, mechanical maintenance, commissioning and client representation.

He has supported complex offshore and scientific drilling projects internationally, combining hands-on engineering experience with operational leadership and project delivery.

As Managing Director, Garry leads Terra’s overall operations and strategic direction while remaining closely involved in offshore delivery, engineering, workshop activities, quality and the development of specialist equipment.

Declan Duncan

Business Development & Project Management Director

Declan leads Terra’s business development and project management activities, supporting the company’s growth while maintaining a strong focus on practical project delivery.

His experience spans project management, business development, stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement and business analysis across a range of operational environments.

At Terra, Declan works closely with clients, suppliers and project partners, supporting project planning, commercial development, risk management and delivery.

He also plays a key role in coordinating Terra’s internal engineering and development projects, helping ensure commercial objectives remain aligned with practical delivery.

Mike Coltman

Commercial & Business Systems Director

Mike brings more than 30 years of experience in procurement, contracts, supplier management and business systems across public and private sector organisations.

His background includes senior commercial roles within multinational and renewable energy businesses, with responsibility for procurement strategy, contract negotiation, supplier management and continuous improvement.

At Terra, Mike leads commercial governance, procurement and business systems, ensuring the company’s engineering and project activities are supported by effective processes, strong supplier relationships and sound commercial control.

His experience helps provide the structure and oversight required to support Terra’s continued growth and increasingly complex project work.
